Our Technology

Our Mission

At Fringe Field Technologies, we are developing a non-invasive microwave glucose-sensing technology to help prevent and slow the progression of diabetes. This novel platform technology is capable of monitoring multiple metabolites and analytes with the accuracy of invasive diagnostics.

Our Team

Our Technology

Our Mission

Our multi-disciplined team of university researchers, AI experts, app developers and business executives are excited to bring the benefits of our WAIVSense technology to society. We believe that accurate personal digital monitoring will help sustain healthcare, shifting treatment to prevention and self-care.

Our Technology

Our Technology

Our Technology

Our innovative, wearable and needle-free technology is capable of simultaneously monitoring multiple core biomarkers including glucose, lactate, ketones, urea, ethanol (blood alcohol) and the level of hydration, with the accuracy currently limited to invasive medical diagnostic techniques.

Making Digital Self-Care a Reality

What we do

Fringe Field Technologies is an innovative biomedical sensing technology research and development company at the forefront of Digital Health Self-Care.

Our Technology

   Non-Invasive Continuous Wideband Microwave Monitor

Our WAIVSense™ patent-pending system combines wide-band microwave biosensor technology, with the power of advanced AI, to achieve exceptional sensitivity and selectivity, delivering enhanced accuracy and performance.

Medical and Wellness Applications

WAIVSense™ convenient non-invasive AI-powered bio-signal measurement and predictive capability makes it ideal for both

medical and wellness applications.

You change what you can measure!

WAIVSense™ technology has potential to revolutionize the health/wellness market, helping individuals make informed choices, based on their own data, to improve their own health. It provides transparency to key metabolic measurements and presents personalized AI insights, empowering individuals to make better lifestyle choices

for diet, physical activity, stress and sleep.

Wearable and Accessible

WAIVSense™ is designed for integration into a wearable device or smart-watch with wireless connectivity to a companion app and secure communication capability to caregivers and medical professionals. The technology is safe, operating far below FDA and Health Canada

limits for electromagnetic energy exposure.

Blood Glucose Monitoring Made Easy

Gain Control of your Levels

Long-term exposure to high blood sugar levels can cause serious long-term health issues. WAIVSense™ minimizes this problem by allowing quick, non-invasive and continuous monitoring so you can regain control of your glucose levels day and night.

Discrete and Pain Free

WAIVSense™ unique needle-free technology will enable you to discretely monitor blood glucose levels whenever and wherever you find yourself, without the need to pierce your skin or worry about the cost or pain.

Predictive Technology

AI-powered technology will wirelessly deliver personalized advice and alerts to a companion app on your mobile device based upon current and historical data to calculate and forecast trends in your blood glucose levels.

Mobile App and Secure Wireless Communication

The data collected by the monitor will be uploaded wirelessly and securely to the mobile app on your cell phone or tablet, allowing you to track readings and easily forward data to caregivers or medical professionals.

Blood Lactate for Medical Diagnosis and Fitness

In a human study, WAIVSense™ demonstrated its ability to track and monitor blood lactate levels similar to the "gold standard" finger-prick test. Lactate monitoring, specifically measuring the concentration of lactic acid in the blood, can provide valuable information in various contexts.

Exercise and Fitness Optimization

Monitoring lactate during exercise helps athletes and fitness enthusiasts optimize their training    intensity for better performance. Lactate threshold is the point at which lactic acid begins to accumulate in the bloodstream. Identifying this threshold helps design training programs and improve endurance.

Performance Assessment

Lactate levels can be used to assess how quickly the body is recovering after intense physical activity. Monitoring lactate during recovery can guide the timing of subsequent training sessions. Understanding lactate dynamics helps athletes improve their endurance by adjusting training strategies and pacing.

Research and Sports Science

Lactate monitoring is essential in sports science research to better understand physiological responses to exercise and develop evidence-based training methodologies. By understanding an individual's lactate profile, coaches and trainers can tailor training programs to suit the specific needs and capacities of athletes.

Medical Applications

Elevated lactate levels may be indicative of various medical conditions, including sepsis, shock, and certain metabolic disorders. Continuous monitoring can help healthcare professionals assess disease progression. Lactate levels can also be useful in managing injuries, especially in cases where tissue damage or reduced blood flow leads to an accumulation of lactate.

Critical Care and Emergency Medicine

Lactate monitoring is commonly used in critical care settings to assess the severity of shock and guide resuscitation efforts. Elevated lactate levels can be an early sign of sepsis. Monitoring lactate can assist in the early detection and management of this life-threatening condition.

Cardiovascular Health

Monitoring lactate levels during Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) provides insights into cardiovascular health and can help identify conditions such as heart failure or pulmonary disease.
